¿QUE ES KILIM?
El kilim es un tejido simple con un urdimbre y tramo. Básicamente se distingue por no tener “pelos” como la alfombra.
Nacieron hace unos 3.500 años en Asia Central, desde donde se fueron extendiendo hacia Europa Oriental, África del Norte y más tarde Europa Occidental. Son consideradas, por tanto, las alfombras más antiguas del mundo. El origen nómada de quienes lo usaban en la antigüedad, hicieron que tuviesen una característica especial en la trama de urdimbre, plana y sin nudos, para evitar el paso de la arena del desierto, ya que acompañaban a sus dueños como maletas o como divisorios en las tiendas que armaban en los viajes. Los diseños estaban llenos de simbolismo, de deseos, de mensajes o de pedidos por ejemplo los motivos con forma de S anunciaban un feliz acontecimiento. En general se confeccionaban sin un patrón previo que los daba espontaneidad y exclusividad a cada pieza, los actuales no respetan a estos tradiciones pero mantienen el espíritu ágil del tejido original.
Una de las principales ventajas del kilim es pesa muy poco, es liviana y nos transmite una imagen fresca y ligera.

They are considered, therefore, the oldest carpets of the world. The nomadic origin of those who used it in the antiquity, made that they had a special feature in the weave of warp, flat and without knots, to avoid the passage of the sand of the desert, since they accompanied their owners like suitcases or like divisions in The stores they put together on trips. The designs were full of symbolism, desires, messages or orders for example the S-shaped motifs heralded a happy event.
